About UCAN

UCAN is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is deeply committed to empowering minorities, their families, and their communities. With our headquarters located in Brunswick County, NC, we have made it our mission to propel socio-economic advancement in various communities of color throughout Southeastern North Carolina and Northeastern South Carolina. We firmly believe in the transformative power of education, entrepreneurship, community connection, and physical and psychological health programs.

One of our primary objectives is to provide educational opportunities that enable individuals from minority backgrounds to reach their full potential. We firmly believe that education has the power to break down barriers and create a brighter future for all. By offering scholarships, mentorship programs, and academic resources, we strive to empower individuals to achieve their academic goals and pursue their dreams.

In addition to our focus on education, UCAN is dedicated to fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship within minority communities. We firmly believe that economic empowerment is crucial for long-term success and self-sufficiency. Through business development workshops, networking events, and access to capital, we aim to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the tools they need to launch and grow successful businesses.

Our commitment to community connection is another cornerstone of our work. We believe that by bringing people together, we can create a sense of belonging and unity. Through community events, cultural celebrations, and neighborhood revitalization initiatives, we strive to strengthen the bonds within minority communities and foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all.

At UCAN, we recognize the importance of not only physical health but also psychological well-being. We understand that many individuals from minority backgrounds face unique challenges and experiences that can impact their mental health. By addressing the holistic well-being of individuals, we aim to create a healthier and happier community.

In conclusion, UCAN is a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is passionately committed to empowering minorities, their families, and their communities. Through our comprehensive programs focused on education, entrepreneurship, community connection, and physical and psychological health, we strive to create a brighter and more equitable future for all individuals in Southeastern North Carolina and Northeastern South Carolina. Together, we can make a meaningful difference and propel socio-economic advancement for generations to come.
